The Nigerian Ambassador to Angola, Professor Monique Ekpong met with the Angolan President, His Excellency, João Manuel Gonçalves Lourenço at the Presidential Villa in Luanda for the presentation of letters of credence. Ambassador Ekpong on her mandate to improve relations with Angola and strengthen bilateral ties proposed points for people to people exchange as well as economic prosperity between Nigeria and Angola.

The interaction between the Nigerian Ambassador and the Angolan president was generally fruitful, with the Ambassador appealing for Nigerians in the country to be  given fairer treatment, and solutions proposed for direct flights to Nigeria in order to eliminate the unnecessary extra 11,000 KM and 10 hour triangular journey in transiting through Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

President João Manuel Gonçalves Lourenço has generally granted the requests by Her Excellency's mandate. It is expected that these moves by Ambassador Prof Monique Ekpong will begin to yield positive results from next month.
