Embassy of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in Bujumbura was established to enhance bilateral relations between Nigeria and Burundi. The two African countries have since grown steadily in trade and mutual economic development. The Mission handles all diplomatic and consular affairs including visa application.
Except on public holidays observed in both Nigeria and Burundi.
New Visa Policy
With effect from April 25, 2016, this policy applies to all applicants for the following categories:
● Tourist visa
● Business visa
● Temporary Work Permit (TWP) visa
● STR (Subject to Regularization) visa
OTHER THAN HOLDERS OF DIPLOMATIC, U.N AND OTHER OFFICIAL PASSPORTS, visa applicants are required to submit their applications at the Nigerian Visa Collection and Sorting Center at the following address:

Nigeria and Burundi established diplomatic relations in 1963 and regards each other as important strategic partners. Since the establishment of diplomatic ties, the all-dimensional and high-quality cooperation between Nigeria and Burundi have been a good example for African cooperation. The brotherhood and friendship between Nigeria and Burundi have delivered tangible benefits to the two countries.
The Embassy of Nigeria in Bujumbura was established in May 2007. Over the years, the relations between the two countries have remained cordial and strong. The Embassy is firmly committed to deepening and expanding these relations to the mutual benefit of the two countries and their peoples. We resolve to also improve consular services to Nigerians resident in Burundi.
