CGJHB/AD/217/VOL.1 | Added on 17 August, 2021

APPEAL FOR PATIENCE BY APPLICANTS AWAITING PASSPORT COLLECTION

The Consulate General of Nigeria Johannesburg, wishes to appeal to Nigerians who applied for passport renewal, completed biometric data capturing and were given collection slip bearing "PENDING 23 to PENDING 33" to exercise a little patience in waiting for the production and collection of their passports.

2. It may interest Nigerians in South Africa and other SADC countries that the Consulate in May-June pushed hard and obtained 6179 passport booklets from Headquarters, Abuja to clear up the backlog of applications incurred as a recult of the Covid-19 pandemic and consequent regulations. These 6179 booklets have almost been exhausted. There are a total of 643 produced passports awaiting collection.

3. Meanwhile, applicants with collection slips bearing "PENDING 7 to PENDING 22" are invited to the Mission on Wednesday and Friday to come and pick up their passports,

4. The Mission currently awaits booklets from Headquarters, Abuja to enable us continue the production and clearance of "PENDING 23 to PENDING 33" applications.

5. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
